Good afternoon, KFN

Good afternoon, KFN membership

Attached is a poster featuring the only car dealership salesperson who reached out to KFN—Brett, a Whitewood local who now works at Regina Honda.

Brett has committed to providing exceptional service to any KFN member looking to purchase a vehicle. He understands that each adult member will be receiving a PCD and has promised a respectful, no-pressure approach. He’s seen how some salespeople can be pushy or dishonest and has assured us that will not be the case with him or his colleagues.

I personally met with Brett over coffee last week and made it clear that if we were to promote him, he must guarantee a positive and fair experience for our members. He agreed and has given us his word that all KFN members will be treated with dignity and respect at Regina Honda.

As a gesture of appreciation, any KFN member who purchases a vehicle from Brett will receive a $500 gift card. This is part of his commitment to going the extra mile for our people.
If you’re in the market for a new or used vehicle, please consider reaching out to Brett at Regina Honda. He’s ready to offer you a great deal and a great experience.

Thank you,
Chief Evan Taypotat

Kahkewistahaw First Nation re: People who have been banned by the First Nation

Good morning Kahkewistahaw,

The following individuals are banned from Kahkewistahaw First Nation. They have been identified as individuals who have sold drugs, or are selling to our people on our homelands—this is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

If you see any of the following individuals on Kahkewistahaw lands, please contact our Community Safety Patrol or the RCMP using the numbers provided below.

Banned Individuals:

  • Logan Whitestar
  • Major Straightnose
  • Anthony Bellegarde
  • Tatiana Lavallee
  • Dominique George
  • Dillion Tanner
  • Andy Tanner
  • Anthony Kinistino
  • Crystal Lerat

– Austin Bellegarde

These individuals are welcome to reach out to me directly if they are truly ready to turn their lives around. I firmly believe in second chances and restorative justice—but real change must come from within. I sincerely hope that some have already made that change and are now living a more honest and healthy life. If so, we want to hear from them to get their name off the banned list.

Otherwise, they are not welcome on Kahkewistahaw First Nation.

Finally, if you have any information about individuals who are planning to or currently selling drugs on our lands, please contact any Council member or myself. Your identity will remain anonymous, and the information will be shared with law enforcement. We will continue to remove drug dealers from our community.

Message from Chief Evan Taypotat

Good afternoon Kahkewistahaw First Nation,
It’s been a productive few days here on the homelands. On Monday, we held our Council meeting, followed by today’s PMT meeting, and our Agricultural Benefits Working Committee has been busy with important planning efforts.
I’ve been in regular communication with Ottawa via phone and email. As of now, we are confident that the Agricultural Benefits funds will be deposited into the First Nation’s bank account before April 23rd. I’m advocating for an earlier release so that we can all enjoy a truly Good Friday—so stay tuned and keep those fingers crossed.
During today’s Agricultural Benefits Working Committee meeting, Membership Clerk Arlene shared that emails with required information are coming in steadily, and many of you have also been stopping by the Governance Center in person. Please continue to submit your information, and be ready to provide any missing details if needed. Our shared goal is to ensure a smooth process with funds reaching your accounts—let’s keep working together to make that happen.
On another exciting note, progress continues on our new O&M Building and Fire Hall. As you can see in the photo, the beams are up and the construction is well underway.
There’s a lot in motion. Our team is preparing to roll out a Financial Literacy Program—including sessions in Regina and Saskatoon—as well as a Homeland Security Plan for when the funds are distributed.
CKCS is working with us as well to ensure our youths needs are addressed as well.
Lastly, we’re working with a vendor to bring a pop-up store to our Nation. This store will offer a range of items such as electronics, quads, lawnmowers, PlayStations, TVs, and more—all right here in our community. They’ll be set up for about a week, providing a convenient shopping experience close to home. The dates for the store will be advertised once we have a firm roll out date.
There’s plenty of planning going on, but rest assured—we’re on it. If you have any suggestions or feedback, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Andrea Starr (her contact info is available on the website).
Thank you for your time, and have a wonderful week ahead!
On behalf of KFN Leadership,
Chief Evan
