Human Resources

Supporting our People. Strengthening our Nation.

The Kahkewistahaw First Nation (KFN) Human Resource Department plays an essential role in advancing our Nation’s Vision, Mission and Values, which focuses on the development, growth, and long-term sustainability for our community.

Human Resources is more than policies and procedures; it is a living expression of how we honour and uplift our community in the workplace.
As our Nation continues to grow, so too does the scope of the Human Resource department. We are responsible for a wide range of core functions, including recruitment, compensation, pension and benefits administration, employee development and wellness, health, and labour relations. These services ensure that our workforce is fully supported and prepared to meet the unique challenges and opportunities within our community.

The HR Department is guided by the Kahkewistahaw First Nation Employment Policy and Procedures Manual, and aligns with supporting documents such as the Strategic Plan, Governance and Committee Policies, Information Management Policies, Finance Policies, and the Organizational Chart. These tools ensure that all staff are treated fairly, equitably, and in accordance with best practices and legal standards.

Our Guiding Responsibilities

The Kahkewistahaw First Nation Human Resources Department welcomes resumes for on-call casual and temporary positions as opportunities arise. If you would like to be considered for future employment, please submit your resume in person or by email to apply@kahkewistahaw.com to be added to our casual employment database.

We especially encourage KFN Members and youth to apply as we continue to build a strong, skilled workforce rooted in our community.

We believe that employment is not just about work, it’s about purpose, pride, and the wellbeing of our people. In every role, every hire, and every policy, we are helping to braid together tradition and transformation.
