POSITION:                 FIRST NATION LABOUR & EMPLOYMENT DEVELOPMENT SURVEY INTERVIEWER

DEPARTMENT:         FEDERATION OF SOVEREIGN INDIGENOUS NATIONS – YORKTON TRIBAL COUNCIL

CLASSIFICATION:   CONTRACT

 

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Under the direction of the Sub-Regional Manager, Interviewers will collect the data required for a comprehensive FNLED Survey. Interviewers will be required to use a tablet/computer for recording the results of interviews and will also be required to participate in training conducted by the FSIN Health & Social Development Secretariat. Successful applicants will be hired/contracted by sub-regional organization to collect FNLED data in their community.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. To conduct individual interviews with community members.
  2. Record data from individual interviews using a tablet/laptop (provided)
  3. Ensure data uploaded/synced to the FSIN server.
  4. Other duties as assigned by the Sub-Regional Manager.

REQUIRED SKILLS. QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:

  1. Experience in working with First Nations communities.
  2. Ability to speak in public.
  3. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and written.
  4. Demonstrated computer skills, ability to understand software.
  5. Ability to gain the trust and respect of community members.
  6. Maintain extreme confidentiality and sign a legally binding oath of confidentiality with FSIN and/or the partner organization.
  7. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  8. Ability to speak a First Nations language would be an asset.
  9. Possess a valid driver’s license and own a reliable vehicle.
  10. Must provide an updated resume.
