SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Kahkewistahaw First Nation is developing their Family Wellness Program. The Family Wellness Post Majority Support Worker works directly with the Family Wellness Team to support youth aged 18-26. The Family Wellness Post Majority Support Worker reports to the Family Wellness Post Majority Manager. The Family Wellness Post Majority Support Worker will support families and/or individuals mentally, emotionally, spiritually and physically. They will assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and services that address Kahkewistahaw First Nation community needs. The Family Wellness Post Majority Support Worker will follow all Kahkewistahaw First Nations Policies and Procedures.

REQUIRED SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:

  1. Diploma or Certificate in Mental Health or Social Work
  2. Additional Professional Development training and/or certification in Human Services field.
  3. Must have good written and oral communication skills to effectively deal with band members, employees, external agencies, and Chief and Council.  
  4. Must maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate a pleasant, courteous, and professional demeanor, while also being punctual, reliable, and committed to upholding confidentiality in all matters.  
  5. Must be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines, possess excellent time management skills, take direction, and work with minimal supervision.   
  6. Possess a valid driver’s license and own a reliable vehicle.  
  7. Must provide three (3) current written references and an updated resume.  
  8. Submit a current updated criminal records check (CPIC). 
  9. Must provide a drug screening test if selected for the Family Services Post Majority Support Worker.

Kahkewistahaw First Nation is developing their Family Wellness Program. The First Nations Representative reports to the Director of Family Wellness.  First Nations Representative will support families and/or individuals mentally, emotionally, spiritually and physically.

REQUIRED SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in social work or related Human Services Field.
  2. Knowledge of alternative healing methods and holistic support services
  3. Knowledge of First Nations Child and Family Services guidelines.
  4. Knowledge of Kahkewistahaw First Nation culture, traditions and language would be an asset  
  5. Be punctual, dependable, and ensure that confidentiality matters remain confidential
  6. Possess a valid driver’s license and own a reliable vehicle.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Water Treatment Plant Supervisor will report to the Operations & Maintenance Manager, with an overall accountability to the Director of Operations. This position manages plant staff, ensures safe and efficient treatment processes, maintains water quality standards, coordinates maintenance activities, and ensures compliance with applicable environmental and drinking water regulations. This position serves as the lead operator. They will be responsible for the daily activities and duties consisting of controlling any process which effects the quality of the water, effective wastewater services treatment and include overseeing the day-to-day maintenance, laboratory testing, administration which effects the quality of the water for the safety and health of the community.

OUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Level 2 – Water Treatment and Distribution Certification
  2. Grade 12 or equivalent  
  3. Work experience in a related field of three (3) years would be a definite asset.
  4. A Residential Plumbing/Heating Maintenance course is preferred
  5. Computer skills – Word and Excel
  6. Supervisory or Management training
  7. Possess time management and organizational skills
  8. Possess a valid driver’s license, own a reliable vehicle.

SUMMARY OF POSITION: 

The role of the Continuing Care Assistant (CCA) is to provide personal care, in-home respite, and home management to clients, based on assessed needs. The CCA encourages clients to be as independent as possible. Duties provided by the CCA will be assigned and supervised by the Home Care RN/Assessor/Supervisor. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  1. Must have a certificate from SIAST/Polytech or other recognized institute in the Home Care Aide/Special Care Aide or Continuing Care Assistant program. 
  2. Must have a valid driver’s license. 
  3. Must be currently certified in CPR/AED and First Aid. 
  4. Must have a clear Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector check.
  5. Must be physically and mentally capable of performing duties, including lifting 25 lbs. 
  6. The ability to speak/understand language(s) of the Nation is an asset. 
  7. Knowledge/awareness of the First Nation culture is an asset. 
  8. Demonstrated ability to take direction and to work with others. 
  9. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. 

EVALUATION PERIOD:  

A probationary evaluation will be conducted before the three (3) months of employment and thereafter an annually upon anniversary date.
