DEPARTMENT: OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE
CLASSIFICATION: FULL-TIME PERMANENT
WAGE: BASED OF CREDENTIALS AND EXPERIENCE


SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Water Treatment Plant Assistant Operator is responsible for the daily operation, maintenance, and monitoring of the community’s water treatment and distribution systems to ensure the delivery of safe, potable drinking water to the residents of the First Nation, in compliance with all relevant federal, provincial, and First Nation standards and regulations. This role requires adherence to strict water quality protocols and a commitment to protecting public health. They will assist community members with ensuring that the water quality is of good quality suitable for drinking and assist community members with the filtration and cleaning of their portable water jugs on day-to-day basis.
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:
1.
Minimum Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
2.
Work experience in related field of two (2) years would be a definite asset.
3.
Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
4.
Must have strong written and oral communication skills. Must be able to transcribe oral dictation precisely to written format.
5.
The willingness to take training opportunities to help ensure accurate and high-quality work performance.
6.
Be punctual, dependable, reliable, and committed to the position.
7.
Possess the ability to maintain the management of confidential information and must be prepared to sign an Oath of Confidentiality.
8.
Possess a valid Driver’s License and own a reliable vehicle.
9.
Submit a Criminal Record Check.
10.
Provide three (3) current references.
