POSITION: LANGUAGE AND CULTURE TEACHER
CLASSIFICATION: CONTRACT – CURRENT – JUNE 30, 2022
SALARY: IN ALLIGNMENT WITH THE PROVINCIAL COLLECTIVE
The successful candidate will have a strong command of the Cree language. They will work with the
school staff to provide First Nation language instruction and support teachers to deliver programming in
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate with education staff and community members to co-construct and deliver a language
and culture program for Chief Kahkewistahaw Community School.
Provide support and professional development opportunities to education staff.
Collaborate with education staff and community members to co-construct and deliver a culture
and land-based program for the CKCS.
Any other duties as assigned by Immediate Supervisor.
Education Degree; Saskatchewan Teaching Certificate.
Ability to speak and teach Cree.
Knowledge and experience with computers and software programs.
Be able to plan programs and can work independently.
Promote and maintain positive teamwork and be courteous, cooperative in a professional manner
and ensure matters remain confidential.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and listening skills.
Submit an updated Vulnerable Sector Check.
Successful applicant will submit an updated Drug Test if selected for the position.
Certificate in First Aid and CPR.
Must be prepared to sign an Oath of Confidentiality and Oath of Employment.
Possess a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle.
Submit (3) written reference letters with updated resume accompanied by a cover letter.
Submit an updated Vulnerable Sector Check along with application.
