New Co-Chair of Board of Directors

It is with excitement that the Kahkewistahâw Economic Management Corporation (KEMC) announces the appointment of Charlie Clark, member of its Board of Directors, as its new Co-Chair, joining Kahkewistahâw First Nation Chief Evan Taypotat.

Mr. Clark served two terms as Saskatoon’s Mayor, from 2016-2024. Clark was first elected to Saskatoon City Council in 2006, representing Ward 6. Clark has a demonstrated track record of leadership that enables new ways forward in terms of reconciliation and treaty relationships and building partnerships with communities.

Clark is now working on a variety of projects as an advisor including with the Saskatchewan Office of the Treaty Commission and the Strong Cities Network. He holds bachelor’s degrees in conflict resolution and education and a master’s degree in environmental studies. He has expertise in the areas of mediation and community economic development.

“I am excited to join the KEMC Board. Our shared future depends on respectful and successful economic and community partnerships. Chief Taypotat, his team, and my KEMC Board colleagues have a strong vision for the Kahkewistahaw First Nation that can benefit future generations across the Province, and I will do my best to support this in a good way.” KEMC’s Co-Chairs and Board of Directors provide management and operational guidance to its subsidiary companies and limited partnerships. The KEMC is governed by the principles of professionalism, autonomy, and financial and economic responsibility. Its goal is to provide a safe, sound and secure path towards economic prosperity.
