Kahkewistahaw First Nation is currently constructing a new Operations & Maintenance and Fire Hall facility. The facility will be located north of the Governance Centre off Highway 201.
It will include:
- 4 bay Fire Hall for the fire protection vehicles
- 5 bay Service Area for the maintenance of the Nation’s equipment
- 20 bay Storage Area for storing the Nation’s heavy equipment and school busses
- A wash bay
- 400 m2 office space for the fire department and O&M department
Construction is anticipated to be complete in Winter 2026. The Project also includes construction of an 8 bay garage building next to the Governance Centre to house the Nation’s other community vehicles, and to provide additional storage.
