POSITION: COMMUNITY-BASED PREVENTION MANAGER

DEPARTMENT: KAHKEWISTAHAW FAMILY SERVICES PROGRAM

CLASSIFICATION: PERMANENT FULL TIME

SUPERVISOR: DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

SALARY: BASED ON QUALIFICATIONS

 

JOB SUMMARY:

Working under the direction of the Director of Operations, this position will:
Work with various Community Groups to enhance special events, cultural events, and continued Family Wellness events and activities (parent classes, budgeting classes, basic home maintenance, etc.). The Community-Based Prevention Program Manager will provide the various programs with an alternate source of “Enhanced” revenue they may require for successful outcomes.
Duties & Responsibilities (will include and not limited to):
•  In consultation with the Family Services staff, the YTL/YTCCFS Prevention Worker(s), and various Kahkewistahaw Department Staff, develop and maintain appropriate community-based Projects.
•  The preparation of reports for the Kahkewistahaw Director of Operations and the Family Kahkewistahaw Family Services Department meetings on basic activities, accomplishments, and areas of concern on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis while remaining within the parameters of PIPEDA, the Kahkewistahaw Code of Confidentiality and the YTL/YTCCFS Code of Confidentiality and the “Need to Know Rule”.
•  Develop and/or assist in Cultural and age-appropriate Projects to meet the needs of the First Nation,
•  Promote family wellness and togetherness.
•  Assist in the Emergency on-call rotation.
•  This individual will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the various project and the annual Community Based Prevention Program budget.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES include and not limited to:

•Certificate in Social Work or Business Admin with 12 months direct experience OR
•Recognized Education in any other Human Services Area OR
•2 years of experience in working in the Human Services Area.
•Demonstrated Experience in positive relationship building.
•Knowledge of developing, monitoring, and maintaining budgets. This includes Annual and Project budgets.
•A valid Saskatchewan Driver’s License free from any restrictions and a reliable vehicle.
•A current Vulnerable Sector Check and the Child Abuse History Check.
•The successful Candidate must provide a Current Drug Screen Test Results certified by a Member of Good Standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons or a reputable Certified Health Lab.
•Must be computer literate (all Microsoft Office applications and Data Base experience, e-scanning to email or file and Internet research abilities). Must possess excellent communication skills (oral and written)

•Ability to handle stress, ambiguity, and conflict situations Must be openminded, compassionate and empathetic, Goal Oriented, with excellent Planning and development skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team setting. Punctual, dependable, and reliable.
• Ability to organize groups, meetings, and building links with other community groups, resources, and organizations.
