POSITION:                          SAFETY PATROL MANAGER

WAGE RANGE:               BASED ON QUALIFICATIONS

CLASSIFICATION:         PERMANENT FULL TIME

 

SUMMARY:

The Safety Patrol Manager to help create and implement strategies to prevent and respond to potential threats within the First Nation. They will supervise the Safety Patrol team, ensuring they perform their expected duties, as well as oversee the operations and services to the surrounding communities as required, of the Kahkewistahaw Family Services Department.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reports directly to the Director of Family Services.
  • Responsible for directing the activities of the Safety Patrol team.
  • Create and implement schedules for security staff to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Be the sole authority and command at the scene of an emergency when required.
  • Ensuring all safety equipment is monitored on a regular basis and is in good working order.
  • Train and direct the activities of the Safety Patrol team to ensure that trained staff are available in the event of an emergency.
  • Maintain records on incidences and reports in all areas.
  • Coordinate prevention education and awareness programs.
  • Any other duties as assigned by Director of Family Services.

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent, and/or some Education, in related field; Safety Management, Engineering.
  • Work with minimum supervision and be able to take and follow directions.
  • Must be in good physical condition due to the physical demands of the job.
  • Knowledge and experience in security, Occupational Health and Safety is an asset.
  • Possess the ability to maintain the management of confidential information in a manner that protects the rights of the First Nation.
  • Must possess a valid Saskatchewan Security Guard License or Private Investigator Security Guard Training Certificate.
  • De-escalation training is an asset.
  • Must have CPR and First Aid (or willing to receive immediately.)
  • Have a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
  • Submit a pre-employment drug screen and current Criminal Records check within thirty days of commencing employment.
  • Must submit three references with an updated resume and cover letter.
