POSITION:                        ON-SITE SECURITY FOR 2022 KAHKEWISTAHAW POWWOW

CLASSIFICATION:         July 12, 13 & 14, 2022

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Kahkewistahaw First Nation is looking for highly motivated and dedicated individuals to fill the positions of the On-Site Security for the 2022 Kahkewistahaw Powwow Celebration.

The successful candidates will be responsible for ensuring security on the grounds. The candidates will be tasked with patrols and inspections of the property, with the goal of mitigating, and responding to security issues during the event.

You will be the first line of defense against many of the security issues during the event and will often make the initial contact with appropriate Emergency Response organizations, such as EMS, Police, and Fire departments. You are a problem solver and can make quick decisions under stressful situations. You will document evidence and complete shift reports outlining observations and activities during assigned shifts.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Hourly perimeter walks
  • Maintain and control crowd control
  • Assist with all requirements of the event
  • Maintain an “assist all mentality”
  • Journal entries of any and all activities including date, time and type of suspicious activity. This includes incidents with wildlife that may pose a danger or threat to the property and/or equipment
  • Report any and all incidents to the Head of Security

 

REQUIRED SKILLS, ABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Security Guard Certificate OR previous experience in working in a role of security
  • Valid First Aid CPR Certification (An asset but not required)
  • Must possess a valid Saskatchewan Driver’s License and a reliable vehicle (An asset but not required)
  • Cellphone (must be available to take calls and texts) (An asset but not required)
  • Available to work Modified Shifts
  • Must be of a pleasant, professional & respectful manner as well as being punctual, reliable, well organized and ensure that confidential matters remain confidential.
  • Must be well organized and able to work with minimum or no supervision.
  • Must provide updated resume.
  • Compensation based on Skills, Abilities and Qualifications starting at $15.00/hr and higher
