Chief’s Message

Tansi!

Welcome to the official web home of Kahkewistahaw First Nation. I greet you on behalf of our hard-working Councillors, Program Managers, foot soldiers (our work force) and the 2100 members who are from our beautiful homelands.

As we move through the Winter of 2019/2020 and with the Christmas season upon us, I am always thinking of those who walk in the Spirt World. The past year has been tough on our people, but we have forged on as it is what our ancestors would have wanted. This Christmas holiday think of the good times while honouring our loved ones through the family traditions that you have always had.

Recently, Kahkewistahaw First Nation signed the Municipal Service Agreement (MSA) with the City of Saskatoon. I have always said that Economic Development is our weapon to fight poverty. In signing the MSA, we can now move forward with the infrastructure of the land and sooner, rather than later, we will have stable economic ventures in Saskatoon.

Lastly, I want to acknowledge our past leaders. Kahkewistahaw First Nation has always progressed, even through very difficult times. For this I commend our previous Chief & Councils as without their guidance, we wouldn’t be where we are today.

We are on the verge of greatness!

Happy Holidays and stay warm this Winter.
