POSITIONS: ADMINISTRATIVE RECEPTIONIST (NORTH WING)

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The North Wing Administrative Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for visitors, clients and provides administrative support at the Chief Joseph Crowe Governance Centre. They will be supervised by the Human Resource Manager with an overall accountability to the Chief and Council. The Receptionist will provide clerical support to the Administration Staff and Chief and Council. The North Wing Receptionist will be responsible for directing incoming and outgoing calls and taking messages for the appropriate staff or Chief and Council. Record and distribute incoming mail to the appropriate department and staff. Responsible for staff itineraries, ordering office supplies and responding to band members requests.
REQUIRED SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Possess a Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Two (2) years of practical experience would be an asset.
- Possess considerable knowledge of effective office procedures and techniques; in particular, file management and data processing.
- Must possess basic computers knowledge and experience with software programs such as word, excel, power point, email, and database programs.
- Must be able to operate general office equipment such as the photocopier, fax machine and phone system.
- Knowledge of the day-to-day operations of the administrative offices.
- Must have excellent communication skills to deal with the public, membership, external agencies, and Chief & Council.
- Can take direction and work with minimum supervision.
- Must possess excellent organizing skills; be punctual, reliable and dependable.
- Ensuring that all personal and band business remains confidential.
- Possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license and own a reliable vehicle.
- Submit a clean drug screen and current criminal records check within thirty days of commencing employment.
- Must submit an updated Cover Letter, Resume and Three (3) References.
