SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Kahkewistahaw First Nation is seeking a motivated and compassionate Family Wellness Manager to join the Family Wellness team. The Family Wellness Manager will be responsible for creating and executing comprehensive wellness initiatives that cater to families’ diverse needs. This role involves assessing wellness requirements, promoting healthy practices, and coordinating resources that enhance the overall quality of family life, ensuring they receive holistic support in their journey toward health and wellness.
The Family Wellness Manager must be highly organized and have knowledge of the Kahkewistahaw First Nation values, culture, and traditions. The Family Wellness Manager will work under the direct supervision of the Director of Family Wellness and perform all other duties as assigned by the Chief and Council of Kahkewistahaw First Nation.
REQUIRED SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
- A degree in social work, public health, family studies, or a related field is preferred. Specialized training in wellness or human behavior is an asset.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in family wellness, social services, or healthcare settings, with a strong emphasis on community service or family engagement.
- Understanding of holistic health approaches, family dynamics, and developmental milestones in children.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups, and experience in program management and evaluation.
- Design and facilitate programs that address family wellness, focusing on mental health, nutrition, physical activity, and disease prevention.
- Regularly evaluate the needs of families in the community to tailor programs that effectively support their wellness
- Offer educational workshops and resources on child development, healthy living, and family dynamics to empower families in making informed decisions.
- Work in partnership with healthcare providers, schools, and community organizations to build a supportive network for families.
- Track participation and outcomes of wellness initiatives, adjusting programs as necessary to meet changing community needs.
- Serve as a liaison to ensure families access relevant services that support their well-being, advocating for their needs within the community and public services.
- Possess a Driver’s license and own a reliable vehicle.
